I was reading a magazine a few days ago and came across lino printing. This is something I've done at school but these prints were another level- so crisp and complex. So I immediately did some research and ordered some supplies.
Choosing a design and getting my head around which parts to carve as it was a negative image was the hardest part, and it took much longer than expected to carve out so expect sore fingers by the end. I did a freehand drawing which I was too impatient to measure out- so it ended up a bit wonky...
I've just printed my first pieces and am very happy with the result...I expected the first few tries to be disasters but I'm very proud of them! I think I'll quickly be moving on to multicoloured prints. Here's the process:
